The culture behind a Megazord: the hiatus between two parts of a season

5 Lug

Welcome back to my blog.

In one month and a week, Power Rangers Ninja Steel will return from a five month hiatus.

This is something that became part of the schedule ever since Saban bought the franchise back to air it on Nickelodeon.

That’s something that always bugged me because a season usually ends in November to pave the way for the new one, which begins in January, so the pause between two parts of one season is longer than the time between two seasons.

I’ve always seen this as a “risk” for Nickelodeon. Why? Because five months is a long time for little kids. Usually, when you’re little, what you couldn’t wait to have during the Winter becomes forgotten in the Summer.

Of course, we’re talking about an expert network, so they know what they do, even though I wonder why not consider splitting the adaptation into four parts. That way, you’d have four small storylines but part of something bigger, and it would make much more sense, even toyline-wise.

However, I don’t think I can say something else about it, if only because I cannot criticize this schedule, just find it strange.

What do you guys think?

See you, next time, here, on the Empty Blog!
