The culture behind a Megazord: the Power Rangers movie and the four parallel seasons

19 Mar

Welcome back to my blog.

Do you want an idea of how much time has passed between the announcement of the Power Rangers movie and its release, in a matter of a few days?

Then, here’s what was airing simultaneously during production.

They announced in 2014, when Super Megaforce aired its first half, meaning it was a few months before the Legendary Battle.

Then, a director was announced, with the cast arriving alongside the ending portion of Dino Charge, which celebrated the 800th episode of the franchise a few weeks earlier.

Shooting for the movie happened throughout 2016, with the first trailer coming in Autumn. It was the year of Dino Supercharge.

Now, the movie will finally be released, and it’ll be just a few days after the first portion of episodes of Ninja Steel.

What does it mean? Well, we’ve seen about 60 episodes, linking three teams (Megaforce, Dino Charge and Ninja Steel) and celebrating two milestones (20th anniversary and 800th episode), all of which even before the cast was announced. Sure, Nickelodeon splitting seasons makes it feel “short”, but, if it happened during the Disney Era, then the episodes would have been 96, with a four team now airing its season.

However, the waiting is finally (almost) over.

See you, next time, here, on the Empty Blog!
